People Living Through Cancer’s Annual Breast Cancer Candlelight Vigil will be held at 6:00 pm at St. Michael and All Angels at 601 Montano Rd NW, Albuquerque.  The Vigil honors breast cancer survivors, those who have died, and their families, friends and caregivers. Lights of Life symbolize the hope we have for both the women and men living with breast cancer and for a future in which cancer is prevented or cured. The program starts at 6 pm and will be guided by Marisa Maez, Channel 7 News Anchor. Jackie McKinney, breast cancer activist, will be the featured speaker and offer reflections on her journey with breast cancer. The New Mexico Women’s Chorus will present the oratorio “Where I Live, A Collection of Writings by Breast Cancer Survivors” and set to music by Diane Benjamin. Following the program, guests can view the luminaria display, Lights of Life and Hope.  Each luminaria has the name of a person who has been touched by breast cancer. A tree will be set up in the vestibule and will be decorated by ribbons tied to the branches by participants who wish to remember a friend or relative touched by breast cancer.  A reception with music provided by Silverwood rounds out the evening.  If you are interested in purchasing a Light of Life and Hope, $5.00 each, please call PLTC at (505) 242-3263.
